Danube Day on 29 June is a day on which various events are held in the countries of the Danube basin reminding the public about the need to protect the Danube River and its tributaries.

The fourth Croatian Conference on Water with international participation “Croatian Water and the European Union – Challenges and Possibilities” was held in Opatija on 17 – 19 May 2007.

The second International Conference “Waters in Protected Areas” was held in Dubrovnik on 25 – 28 April under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Croatia, Stjepan Mesić.

An agreement on the co-financing of a water supply and sewerage and wastewater treatment program on the Adriatic islands in 2007 in the total amount of HRK 87.1 million was signed in Zagreb.
